We have traveled many times by bus, tried every kind of seat and experienced long long distances. This time it was too much though. From Salvador to Rio it would have taken more than 30 hours. So we cut the way through Vitoria, reached after only 22 hours. It’s a important commercial Barbour built on a island connected to the mainland by bridges and it’s the capital of Espírito Santo. Judging by its buildings the boom happened during the 60’s and 70’s, known for many beautiful things but not for beautiful architecture. During our 24 hours stop we walked along downtown and enjoyed the beaches, filled with people and music. On our way back we walked along the water, in the shadows of high palms and zigzagging through the bikers. They were in a hurry during a Saturday afternoon but us, we are never!
